The best ASO tools for indie developers (2026)

First, the disclosure: we make Veldo, and it's on this list. We've kept every entry honest anyway, including where the others beat us, because you'll figure it out in a free trial either way. Prices checked July 2026.

Veldo: rank, spend, and revenue in one table

$8.99/mo or $99/yr · native macOS. Ours. Veldo tracks unlimited keywords in 60+ storefronts and joins each keyword's organic rank with your Apple Ads spend and RevenueCat revenue, ending in a verdict: bid, pause, or double down. Rank and competitor alerts, reverse ASO, a metadata editor with live coverage, custom product page advice (iOS 26), and a CLI + MCP server. Everything stays in a local database on your Mac. No Google Play. If you need Android, pair it with something below.

Astro: the polished native rank tracker

$9/mo billed annually ($108 up front) · native macOS.Fast, well-designed, and ships monthly. Tracks rankings across all Apple platforms (iOS, watchOS, tvOS, and the Mac App Store) with keyword import, reverse ASO, and its own MCP server. No spend or revenue attribution, and no monthly billing option. If you only want organic rank tracking done beautifully, it's a fine choice; ourdetailed comparison covers the rest.

ADSwift: Apple Search Ads management with revenue eyes

$149–249 one-time · native macOS. Not a rank tracker at all: ADSwift manages Apple Search Ads campaigns (bids, negative keywords, bulk edits) with RevenueCat revenue per keyword as its headline. If you spend seriously on Apple Ads and want a campaign cockpit, it's the indie pick. Pair with a rank tracker for the organic side.

Appfigures: analytics suite with keyword tracking bolted on

From $9.99/mo · web. Great consolidated financials, reviews, and market data across both stores. Keyword tracking is metered (about 25 keywords on the entry plan), which makes serious ASO work expensive; more on that here.

Sonar: web-based, both stores, API-friendly

$19/mo or $149/yr · web. Covers iOS and Android with an API and credit packs aimed at automation and AI agents. A reasonable pick if Android matters and you don't care about native.

Applyra: the budget web option

Free tier, $9.99/mo unlimited · web. Young product, both stores, generous pricing. Worth a look if your budget is zero; expect less depth than the tools above.

AppTweak, MobileAction, Sensor Tower: the step-up suites

From ~$59–79/mo to enterprise contracts. Full intelligence platforms with competitor download estimates and agency features. Excellent at what they do, and overkill below real marketing budgets. The consistent indie experience: you pay for a lot you won't open.
